CLIFTON HILL HOUSE

Clifton Hill house is a renovated 1920s freestanding house that has been extended to optimise light and space while integrating the indoor spaces with landscaped courtyard and garden areas. The design effectively utilises the small 180m2 block to convert the original two-bedroom house into a spacious three-bedroom residence suitable for multiple stages of life.

The original elements such as the heritage hearth and claw-footed bath were incorporated into the design with finely crafted Australian timbers, natural stone, and craftsmen-built cabinetry to create a seamless blend of contemporary and 1920s design.

The master bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom and generous storage within a very small floorplan. The living and dining space flows out into a landscaped and bluestone-paved northerly courtyard providing opportunities for indoor/outdoor entertaining and secure off-street parking and storage via a rear lane.
